Smile!!

Look who came to visit y’all ;) It’s the Joker!!! =D

I’m a huge fan of Alan Moore =D I never thought I’ll get his novels here but then i got it online =D I got one of his classic graphic novels a few weeks back – Batman: The Killing Joke(remastered). It’s drawn by Brian Bolland and it looks just amazing remastered, actually a lot better than the original =)  I am glad!!!

So here is the first page, the Joker smiling insanely =P Thought of coloring it but… I don’t know, it seems a bit difficult to get the colors right. Maybe I’ll do it in a few days. And I guess the lines are too bold???? :s maybe…

Read it if you get the chance to read it! It’s a different take on Batman. It’s pure awesomeness =)

Random Sketches

Ah… I’m feeling a bit depressed today. My coursemates passed out from the Army Academy last  Saturday. I forgot about all that stuff and was back to being almost normal but ‘facebook’ was really kind in reminding me by putting up their pretty pictures in my newsfeed that they’ve all become real heroes and I’m the only one stuck and sitting at home researching on ways not to become a complete looser. It was not easy to forget. It was never easy… I just covered it up with my drawings.

But blaaahh… things don’t happen the way we want it to happen anyways right?? ;)

Anyway, these are some sketches from the last week =)

These guys are from (inspired) final fantasy – well, I changed their heads to something I like o.O

 Ashitaka from Mononoke Hime =)

Chihiro and Haku from Spirited Away =)

Ulquiorra from Bleach… I love him!! really =P

Hollow Ichigo ;)

One thing I’ve realized is that drawing makes me truly happy and sometimes it’s very rewarding =) I guess I’ll just wait this phase of my life out =)

Pencil #3

My latest attempt with pencil =D I’m pretty happy with it ’cause it’s an exponential improvement from last time [link] – which means I can definitely improve :) I got heavily inspired by many self taught artists in deviantart. Their works are just too inspiring, just like [him]. And this quote from a movie keeps ringing in my head… always – “If one man can do, another can do” =D I forgot which movie though =(

So anyway, I drew the picture from [this] reference image. It’s a super amazing picture by Dmitry Ageev =) His gallery of photographs is just awesome!! This is my take on his photograph and it doesn’t look like the image at all =P

I don’t know how I got it wrong, but her neck seems broken…?? don’t you think??? I mean it’s too tilted to the side =(…

This is some WIP’s of the picture, I made many many many changes from the start till the very end. I was just not satisfied with the result. Still want to do many more changes, but I guess if I do more it’ll ruin the paper and the drawing.

What did I learn from drawing this portrait?

  1. Need to practice drawing human hair
  2. Need to practice drawing fabric
  3. I learned which pencils to use o.O (seriously… it was a revelation)
  4. I understood that there are better and proper ways to start sketching than blackening everything out! =(
*sigh*

Well, that’s all for now =)

I’LL BE BACK! =P lol… Have a great time guys!!! =)

Baby Steps in Pencil-Art

This is my juvenile attempt at pencil shading =)

Left is obviously what I drew and the other one is a google search result for ‘black-n-white’ photography =)

I’ve never been good at shading. Used to sketch a lot in high school. That changed to doodles  during college. Every spare minute I used to get during classes or otherwise I slept =) so the doodles weren’t that much. Never really cared what I drew. I’ll say that my interest in drawing took a hike during college! *sigh*

Anyway, I’ve revived my love for sketching =) only this time, I want to improve it so badly!! - (This interest has something to do with watching anime without a break)hehe…

What I learned from drawing this tea cup -

  1. The paper SUCKS!! =( Blame it on me ’cause I didn’t buy drawing paper. grr…
  2. My perspective is all wrong.
  3. Finally realized that I dig graphite sticks =P

That’s all for now. More soon =)

PS: The drawing looks cooler in real B)
